They Buried Four of the Forty Seven on Sunday. The UN Has Now Said Exactly Where the Other Forty Three Died.
The UN human rights office has now reconstructed the Kenscoff massacre: thirteen killed fleeing, twenty two executed in a church courtyard, twelve behind the church.
Hundreds of people crowded into a church in Kenscoff on Sunday to bury four of the forty seven.
A mother, a father, and their son. And a man of seventy whose body the gunmen had set on fire.
The building was too small for the mourners it drew. Dozens stood outside in the road and watched through the windows. When the coffins came out, the crowd climbed the hill behind the hearses to the cemetery. No one has said when the other forty three will be buried.
Seven days earlier, the people of Kenscoff had run to a building exactly like that one. On Sunday the United Nations human rights office said what happened when they got there.
